DATAIUM STUDY: CARFAX REPORTS HELP DEALERS SELL MORE CARS

Dealers Using Carfax on the Internet Get More Buyers Interested in their Cars

NASHVILLE (December 2, 2013) – According to a new independent study on the impact of Carfax Reports on the automotive shopper buying cycle from Dataium, the largest aggregator of in-market automotive shopper behavior, dealers using Carfax on the Internet get more buyers interested in their cars. Commissioned by Carfax, the initial findings from the study revealed that online shoppers spend nearly twice as long on a dealer’s website and are five times more likely to submit a lead when the dealer provides Carfax® Vehicle History Reports™. They also are twice as likely to look at cars listed with a free Carfax Report.

“Our findings show clear evidence that using Carfax creates more sales opportunities for dealers,” said Eric Brown, Dataium Co-Founder. “In our study, when Carfax Reports were provided for cars posted online, there was a significant increase in the time spent on the dealer’s website and lead submissions. It’s likely that more interest and more leads will result in increased sales.”
